Diabetes Treatment
There are new drugs that can specifically treat pain from diabetic nerve damage.
Although there are a variety of medications used to treat the pain from diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), none were approved specifically for this condition. However, in 2004, the FDA approved two medications specifically designed to treat DPN: duloxetine, also known as Cymbalta, and pregabline, also know as Lyrica. In clinical trials, both appeared to be safe and fast working.
